TW Induction 2013

After a sort-of rigorous application process, we have a new TomasinoWeb core group for 2013-14 which was announced in this year’s induction ceremonies!

We had our induction at the gorgeous Villa Infant Jesus in Marikina (as usual)! Many thanks to the family of our orgmate who owns the lovely place! (And lives just in front of it hahaha)

TomWebbers!

And so we were taking pictures at the edge of the pool and there was an evil plot against the graduates!

image

Look what they gave us after pushing us into the pool! What a bunch of ungrateful children! :p

image

The graduates. Actually I was the only graduate who fell into the pool. You bastards. Hahaha.

image

As it is actually my plan to get wet with my dress on, I did this. Hahaha. Awkward wet and wild lol.

image

Because we are a bunch of good kids, instead of alcohol we had carabao chocomilk. So hardcore.

And we went swimming awkwardly while talking about TomWeb plans.

We stayed overnight Gelli’s place

Daryl’s selfie hahaha.

And then breakfast, hahaha.

But wait there’s more! The party didn’t end there! JC and Daryl went to our house after Gelli’s hahaha.

image

It was already time for dinner and we invited my neighbor orgmate for karaoke hahaha.

That technically ends my life as a TomWeb member, lol.

I have said this many times but I joined a lot of orgs and it was only in TomWeb that I found what an org really is about. I have joined larger and more established orgs which are too much for me and I’ve also joined ones which I really feel lacking. TomWeb is just in the middle. It’s nature gives it a lot of potential that members won’t run out of ideas to implement here. It is where I found my college friends that until now I always talk to and meet-up with. Being a univ-wide org I enjoyed the org’s diversity. I was exposed to a good variety of talents, skills, perspectives and traits. The people here are truly united by the passion for a craft and dedication to always improve their skills. (43 revisions of a poster? Ordinary day in TW haha)

Everyday I immediately run from my class to the org room because I really get rid of stress when I’m with them. We love talking about ideas, no matter how serious or silly it may be. We love talking about our competitors and we love thinking about how we can be better than them. We love talking about change, innovation and the latest trends. I felt I was in a company when I was in TomWeb. And especially, we love getting a good clean fun, without the need to drink alcohol, tell dirty jokes and fill our statements with foul words. We are happy with just us eating together in the org room, drinking milk tea, having food trips around the campus vicinity, bringing our laptops and playing games in the org room, downloading stuff to make use of UST’s unbelievably fast Internet connection, watching our favorite TV series together in the org room, sleeping etc. Being an online publication, our quirks don’t end in the physical world. We love seeing our works get good insights from our target market especially because we accomplished it together. As a senior. I really enjoyed seeing the kids get happy when their published work get good comments from our audience. Gahd. I had so much fun with them. The org room is like my second home.

My experience in this org was not all-fun as the work here is really demanding, but I’ll always be thankful of this org and the people here. This org allowed me to experiment on methods that I learned in class. I have unleashed and honed my leadership skills and I have discovered who I really am, what I really like doing and most importantly I have proved that following your passion is not a cliche, it is indeed true. Follow what you love doing and you can find your happiness. It is in this org that I found my fulfillment. I will always live with the values this org has taught me. Innovation, dedication, passion.

TomWeb is just love.
